China's laser industry has continuously innovated and developed, producing a number of laser technology achievements at the international advanced level. The rapid development of lasers has become an indispensable supporting technology in industries such as mechanical manufacturing, automobile manufacturing, aerospace, power batteries, smartphone manufacturing, medical devices, and even defense and military.

Since April 28th, the "2022 China Laser Golden Excellence Award" has received extensive attention from the laser industry and companies. A total of 85 products from 67 companies participated in the competition.

On the afternoon of September 15th, the expert review meeting for the "2022 China Laser Golden Excellence Award" was held at the conference room of Huazhong University of Science and Technology Publishing House, with both online and offline participation. The expert panel included Professor Wang Youliang, Director of the Laser Processing Committee of the Chinese Optical Society; Professor Yongfeng Lu from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA; Professor Rongshi Xiao from Beijing University of Technology; Professor Jianhua Yao, Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Zhejiang University of Technology; Professor Zhigang Zhang from Peking University; and Professor Wenwu Zhang, Researcher at the Ningbo Institute of Materials, Chinese Academy of Sciences, participated online. Professor Qingmao Zhang, Deputy Director of the Laser Processing Committee of the Chinese Optical Society and professor at South China Normal University; Professor Xiahui Tang, Deputy Director of the National Research Center for Laser Processing and Chairman of the Hubei Laser Society; and Chen Chao, Secretary-General of the Laser Processing Committee of the Chinese Optical Society, attended the meeting in person. Professor Qingmao Zhang presided over the review meeting. The expert panel evaluated and deliberated on the process and results of this year's awards, and provided valuable opinions and suggestions for the future development of the event.

A total of 82 products were shortlisted for the Golden Excellence Award, and among them, 35 products received gold, silver, and bronze awards for new technology/new products/new applications.

Changguang Huaxin and Tongkuai won the Gold Award for New Technology; Raycus, Penta Laser, and IPG won the Gold Award for New Products; and Chengfei and Yifei won the Gold Award for New Applications.
